About the Book

“Steam Ahead with Science” is a well-curated series of grades 1 to 8. It is a well thought out and planned endeavor to change the outlook of young learners towards learning of science. It enables the learners to understand and apply the scientific principles and scientific knowledge to their daily life. The concepts presented in a lucid manner enable them to have a better grasp of the content. They cultivate the ability to predict, hypothesise, analyse and draw conclusions. The series has appropriately graded text with supporting illustrations and images. An inquiry based appproach helps the learner to move from concrete to the abstract and find answers. Rational thinking is encouraged and curiosity is built through exploratory activities and experiential learning. Scientific facts and knowledge are integrated with each other curricular areas using project approach. The series is completely aligned with recommendations of National Education Policy 2020 and the curriculum goals as defined in the National Curricular Framework 2023. The competencies and skills to be developed are linked to learning outcomes. The content across the grades are linked to the 17 SDGs laid down by United Nations.
